Terms of Service
Last updated October 4, 2026
These terms explain the rules for using dystopic, what you can expect from us, how Premium works, and what we do with your data. They're written to be readable; please actually read them.
1. About dystopic
dystopic (imdystopic.com) is a profile-page service: you log in with Discord, claim a page at imdystopic.com/yourname, and decorate it with your links, music, images and live Discord status. Pages are public, so anything you put on yours can be seen by anyone with the link.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By using dystopic (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. You must be old enough to use Discord in your country to use dystopic.
3. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply once they're posted here, and the date at the top always shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms. If a change significantly affects Premium (for example removing a major paid feature), we'll make a reasonable effort to announce it on the site first.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your Discord account. Keeping that account secure is your responsibility; anything done while logged in as you is treated as done by you.
- Pick a username that isn't illegal, offensive, misleading, or pretending to be someone else (including dystopic staff). We can reclaim or change usernames that break this, are being squatted, or cause confusion.
- Don't create extra accounts to dodge a ban or limit, and don't sell or share access to an account.
5. Using the Service
Use dystopic lawfully and in a way that doesn't harm the Service or other people. In particular, don't:
- try to bypass security, rate limits, Premium checks or other access controls, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities;
- access other people's accounts or data without permission;
- impersonate a person, brand, or dystopic staff, or imply an affiliation or endorsement that doesn't exist;
- use bots, scrapers or automated tools against the Service without our written permission;
- upload or link malware, exploits, phishing pages or anything designed to damage devices or steal data;
- overload the Service, for example with denial-of-service activity or mass automated requests.
6. Content that isn't allowed
These examples aren't a complete list. If something threatens people's safety, the law, or the Service, we may act on it.
- Anything illegal, or that helps or encourages illegal activity.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, ever. We report it to the authorities.
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material, and intimate images shared without consent.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, doxxing, or targeting people for abuse.
- Content that promotes or glorifies terrorism, extreme violence, or self-harm.
- Scams, fraud, spam, phishing, or collecting people's information without their consent.
- Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You're responsible for it, and you confirm you have the right to share it.
So the Service can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, resize/convert and display your content as needed to run, secure and improve dystopic. That permission ends when you delete the content or your page, except for copies we must keep for legal, security or dispute reasons, or that other people have already shared.
You agree to cover us (see Indemnity) for claims caused by your content or by you breaking these Terms.
8. Uploads and file hosting
Uploads are for your own page: avatars, banners, backgrounds, songs, cursors and icons. Each account has a storage limit (currently 150 MB) and per-file size limits. Don't use dystopic as a general file host or CDN, or hotlink files at scale from other sites or apps. We may compress, remove or block files that break these Terms or put unusual load on the Service. Files your page no longer uses may be cleaned up automatically.
9. Badges
Badges are handed out by dystopic staff, apart from the Premium badge, which comes with Premium. They can't be bought, sold or transferred between accounts, and we may add or remove them at our discretion, including if the badge system is abused.
11. Third-party services and links
dystopic relies on other services, including Discord (login and avatars), Lanyard (live status, opt-in), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting) and icon providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. Pages can link to other websites; we don't control or endorse them, and visiting them is at your own risk. We may remove links that are harmful or break these Terms.
12. Privacy
What we store
- From Discord login: your Discord ID, username, display name and avatar. We never see your Discord password or messages.
- Your page settings and the files you upload.
- A daily, anonymised visitor fingerprint per page, only to count views once per visitor per day.
- The IP address and approximate country you signed up from and last logged in from. It's used only for security, preventing abuse and enforcing bans, only the site owner can see it, and it's deleted with your account.
- Live status on pages comes from Lanyard, a third-party service you opt into by joining its Discord server.
If you buy Premium, we also keep a record of the purchase (amount, date and the email Stripe gives us) for accounting and support. The site uses one login cookie to keep you signed in, and stores small preferences (like your volume or preview size) only in your own browser.
Deleting your data
Dashboard → Account → Delete my page removes your page, your uploads and your account data.
Short-lived logs and backups may persist briefly for security and reliability before they expire. Purchase records may be kept where the law requires it.
13. Moderation, suspension and termination
We may remove content, reclaim usernames, or restrict, suspend or delete accounts that break these Terms, put others at risk, or create legal problems for the Service, with or without notice. Where appropriate we may cooperate with law enforcement. You can stop using dystopic and delete your page at any time. Sections that should logically survive (such as ownership, payments, disclaimers, liability and indemnity) continue to apply after your account ends.
14. Our intellectual property
The Service itself (its design, code, logo and the assets we provide), apart from your content, belongs to dystopic and its licensors. You may use assets we provide only on your dystopic page. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service except where the law allows it.
15. No warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST, SO KEEP YOUR OWN COPIES OF ANYTHING IMPORTANT.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, DYSTOPIC WON'T BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50. SOME PLACES DON'T ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY APPLY ONLY AS FAR AS YOUR LOCAL LAW PERMITS.
17. Indemnity
You agree to defend and compensate dystopic and the people who run it against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your misuse of the Service, or your breaking these Terms or someone else's rights.
